The days of men paying no attention to their physique or skincare are over. It has been proven that not only do women take great care of their skin and their appearance, but so do us guys. How do guys get perfect skin? After consulting several dermatologists and researching myself, here what I’ve learned about how to get flawless skin:
It is essential to eat more green foods, drink enough water, and eliminate alcohol consumption to have perfect skin. You must also wash it every night, apply a moisturizer and exfoliate at least once a week. With this, I assure you that you will have perfect skin.
Today’s men want to have perfect skin like so many Hollywood actors do, and to look more refreshed with cleaner, smoother skin. Let me tell you that this is not impossible. If you think only women can have that kind of skin, you’re wrong.
This article will cover how to give exceptional care to your skin, so that it looks more beautiful, healthy, and generally more perfect. The first thing you need to know is this.
Why should men take care of their skin?
Men’s skin is on average about 30% thicker than women’s, because it has more elastin and collagen. Men also have much more oily skin (about 75% more). That makes it necessary for men to hydrate their skin and have a daily routine to prevent wrinkles, redness, or acne.
You may think that skincare is not so important to your attractiveness. You may think you don’t have time to take care of your skin and, for these reasons, it’s just not essential.
You’re mistaken; skincare is something you need to do, and I’ll explain why.
Help Delay Aging
You may not know this, but our skin can be affected by many factors that we don’t even perceive. That’s why it can look dull and dry, which contributes significantly to premature aging.
One of the biggest factors that contribute to this is damage from the sun’s rays. Environmental pollution is also a factor to account for. Finally, you must also consider that the stressors of everyday life can affect our skin drastically.
Important tip: It is possible to delay the first lines of expression in your face. You have to take care of your face with regular cleaning, sufficient hydration and sunscreen to avoid sun damage.
Always try to choose products that contain antioxidants; specifically Vitamins A and C to fight free radicals.
You may ask yourself why all this effort, but I will tell you all that you’ll avoid by adhereing to this:
- We can prevent premature facial wrinkles.
- We will avoid spots on the skin, or make them disappear.
- Also, we will fight dryness and facial irritation.
- We will prevent as much as possible the appearance of dark spots, freckles and moles.
- We will delay expression lines as much as possible.
- Finally, we will eliminate those ugly dark circles and bags under the eyes.
You will have better skin after shaving
Our entire skin is our largest organ. It serves as the protective layer for our whole body. Our skin is like a shield to protect us, but some external factors and threats can attack it and significantly damage this natural defense.
Our facial skin can become dry, sensitive, and irritated when its protective barrier is compromised. This can worsen, especially if you shave very often, since shaving can leave our skin much more sensitive and exposed to external agents.
Important tip: You must know that it is essential to always apply a lotion or moisturizer right after shaving your face. This prevents your skin from getting irritated, and helps with cell renewal after the inevitable damage we do to our face when we shave. It doesn’t matter if you shave or wax; there is still stress on the face—that’s why you always have to apply moisturizer.
It is crucial to work toward healthier skin
I’ll tell you something that you may not know much about: men’s skin is a little different from women’s. Men’s skin is about 30% thicker, and tends to be much rougher than women’s.
But on the other hand, despite being a little rougher, men also tend to have slightly more oily skin than women. That happens because their sebum production levels are much higher.
Thus, to maintain healthy and balanced skin, it is necessary to care for it and apply high-quality products. You must choose the most suitable ones for your skin, and always use them in the right ways to achieve the best look.
An important tip: Remember that you must use products that are restorative and, as much as possible, maintain their optimal pH for an effective skincare routine. That will help your natural defenses, and keep your face much more resistant to external harms that can damage it.
But, since I’m talking about having healthy skin, you must first what makes healthy perfect skin.
What is healthy skin in a male?
Men have thicker skin than women, and they tend to generate more fat because their pores are bigger. Not only are their pores larger, but many men are continually shaving. This action damages the upper layer of the dermis, and can cause constant irritation, pimples and other skin problems.
How can a man get flawless skin?
According to a scientific study, a man’s face sebum is much higher women’s, due to the influence of sex hormones. To have a perfect face and maintain the skin’s natural oils, a man should not wash his face more than twice a day. After washing, be sure to moisturize with cream.
This study also indicated that the pigmentation in men’s skin is much higher; thus, the wrinkles and sagging under the eyelids are more significant than in women. Thus, excellent facial cleaning is highly recommended, and apply a moisturizing night cream to repair and see healthier skin.
How can a man achieve perfect skin?
Follow a skincare routine
It is essential to follow a good care routine to prevent your skin from drying out excessively, and also fat and excess sebum problems. The good news is that there are a variety of skincare products for men available today.
If you want to get clean skin, which is healthy and free of imperfections, you should follow all these tips to the best of your ability.
That said, I must tell you that it is necessary to follow a skincare routine with good quality products. It is also required to change those harmful habits that damage your skin daily; you must change your lifestyle.
Implement a healthier lifestyle and habits
This is crucial, especially trying to get adequate sleep and improving your diet with fresh, nutritious foods. Avoid overeating sugar, and don’t abuse tobacco or alcohol. These substances are bad for your skin in every way.
Remember that it is also vital to your face’s hydration and care to minimize factors that can damage your skin, such as excessive sun exposure and lack of sleep.
To have a perfect face, you must do several things. Next, I will explain a five-step routine you should follow to have an ideal complexion.
Purify your body
That is the first step, very important since your skin reflects your body’s health. Your skin has major impact on your life since, through it, toxins are eliminated through the pores. These toxins damage and degenerate the cells on the inside, and this is reflected on the outside.
When we consume foods that have unhealthy ingredients, toxins are reflected quickly in our skin, and especially on our face.
Eating well will give us good health and beauty, because it naturally creates a purifying effect on our body.
Some recommendations that you should not ignore:
- Try to drink a warm glass of water with a few drops of lemon juice on an empty stomach. This is very effective as a detox.
- Remember to add a glass of fresh juice ora green shake to your daily diet. These are excellent for your body.
- Try to eliminate from your diet most processed foods and decrease refined sugars containing gluten, dairy and its derivatives.
- Try to move your body more; that is to say, you should practice some sport or do some physical activity daily.
- Drinking enough water is the most important. It would be best if you kept yourself hydrated all day. Try to always carry a small bottle of water with you.
Nourish your body
Remember that we are what we eat. Poor nutrition accelerates the appearance of pimples, wrinkles and blackheads too quickly. Everything we eat reflects on our skin. To nourish our skin, we must heal from the inside and choose the right foods to consume.
I recommend you adopt a diet rich in vegetables, natural products, fruits, whole grains, nuts, seeds, algae and other nutritious foods.
You must know that the pigments or colors of the vegetables and fruits signal that they contain potent antioxidants. These are the ones that fight the harm of free radicals, the main culprits responsible for our cells’ aging.
You should try as much as possible to reduce or eliminate the consumption of animal protein. Or, if you consume it, try to ensure that it is of great quality and organic.
Always try to enrich your diet with foods that are rich in essential fatty acids. Prioritize Omega-3 and 6, which are found in seaweed, seeds (chia, linen, hemp), green leafy vegetables, nutes and dried fruits.
Clean your skin
Always remember that your face’s cleanliness is of the utmost importance. It would be best to use a neutral pH cleaner every night before bed. I do not recommend using very aggressive cleaners, since they tend to damage the skin by drying it out.
I recommend using soaps that are natural, and based on lavender extracts or tea leaves, especially if you tend to get acne or overly oily skin.
Exfoliate your face
This is one of the most critical steps. Exfoliation serves to remove the dead cells that are on the surface of our skin. These dead cells may be dulling our skin’s true color. You can buy a product to exfoliate, but you can also create an exfoliant at home.
- You can mix 5 tablespoons of coconut oil or macadamia oil with one tablespoon of sea salt.
- Stir well until the oil melts and the mixture is homogeneous, and you will have your exfoliant.
- You should apply it to the face with circular movements upwards. Don’t rub too strong, and then remove it with abundant water.

Remember that our body is made up of 60-70% water. So, for this reason, our good skin condition will depend mainly on staying well hydrated.
- Always remember to drink quality water throughout the day.
- It would be best if you drank green juice/shakes at least once a day. It is of utmost importance in terms of nutrition and hydration.
- Try to consume at least 70% of your vegetables raw, like in salads. Salads will provide us with more water, minerals, and active enzymes for our skin.
- Remember that you should reduce or eliminate your consumption of caffeine and alcohol. These have a dehydrating effect.
